In order to work at their best and contribute to the success of their organisation, the mental health and well-being of staff are crucial. Organisations that focus on promoting and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of their employees see better productivity, as well as greater staff engagement, recruitment and retention.
Creating a mentally healthy workplace is a shared responsibility. All staff – from managers to employees – have a role to play. Therefore one of the best ways to ensure, that all of the members are on the same page when it comes to mental health promotion, is to create and follow a workplace mental health strategy. A workplace mental health strategy is a plan to build a healthy workplace environment through the protection, promotion, and support of better mental health. These include policies, procedures, and initiatives in the organisation that promote wellbeing and provide support for employees facing mental health conditions.
However, how do we create a mental health strategy at the workplace? And how to follow it through once it is done? We are going to explore this issue in-depth in our live discussion for HRs and leaders with a Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategist Amy McKeown.
